DARC (German Amateur Radio Club) and eQSL in Development Partnership

      February 4, 2010 -

The DX and HF Contesting Committee of the German Amateur Radio Club (DARC) and the operators of the Electronic QSL Card Centre (www.eQSL.cc) have announced a development partnership. The goal is to create an electronic server-to-server transmission system for submission of electronic QSLs (eQSLs) to the online DARC Contest Logbook (DCL) www.darc-contest-logook.de. eQSL.cc is the leading electronic QSL card system with over 150,000 users who have uploaded over 150 million QSLs. Users upload their logs in ADIF format, where they can be used to confirm contacts made with other amateur radio operators.

To make the eQSL system simple to use around the world, it has been translated into many languages, including German. Registration on the site is uncomplicated and quick. Upon logging in the very first time, users can discover all the cards that have been arriving for them even before they were a member. eQSL offers useful statistical reports and a line of proprietary eAwards, and it cooperates with external award programs such as those of CQ magazine. In the past, the DARC gave its conditional acceptance of eQSLs for several DX and HF awards on a test basis, and had nothing but positive experiences and reports.

Soon eQSL users will be able to transmit their eQSLs electronically into the DCL for application to various DARC contests and awards. In this way, the DARC hopes to expand its user base of the DCL, even amongst amateur radio operators outside the contesting specialty.

The Electronic QSL Card Centre, eQSL.cc, is a free service, operating for more than 10 years. In that time it has grown to over 150,000 members who have uploaded over 150 million electronic QSL cards. Every hour, another 4,000 eQSLs are uploaded.
