Support - English speaking » Can't Display eQSL cards Aug 10, 2012 05:43 PM (Total replies: 6)

Hi Dave,
Issue solved. Phoned Dell Support and they discovered that my most recent Microsoft automatic update (done 2 days ago) had affected my computer configurations with pop-ups. The tech restored my computer to 2 days ago and took me off auto updates in favour of my selecting only the critical ones from here on. Now everything is back to where it was when I first installed eQSL.

Dave, thank you so much for all your advice and investigation into my problem. I appreciate the great support you provided. Hopefully, if anyone else has a similar situation they will benefit from what has happened in my case.

All the best.

Terry

Dave,
Yes it certainly was a typo...I have definitely opened the gates for all pop ups. I agree that popups are suddenly being blocked somewhere in my system but am really puzzled as to where.

Yes I have looked in the archive and the card is there however same problem. When I click on 'Display' nothing comes up. As I mentioend it worked fine 2 days ago when I sent the test card to myself but since then the display feature does not allow any card viewing. I actually believe that it must be something in the computer & not your eQSL program because I also discovered last night in an e-mail from a friend that a link he sent to me would not display either when I clicked on it.

But as mentioned I've exhausted all of the ideas I had regarding computer settings, Do you have any other thoughts about computer settings that I should also check. So far, 'no pop ups allowed' is checked, firewall shut down and all cookies accepted. I don't know what else to do.

Thanks Dave.

I just signed up for eQSL yesterday and everything went well for my first day of orientation, including sending a test eQSL to my own e-mail to see how it looked. Yesterday, I was able to hit the display button and my card 'popped' up perfectly. Today, I can't see any cards when I hit 'display' only a tiny yellow lightning bolt where the cursor hits the display button.

I read your other reply to someone who recently had the same sort of problem and so I went through everything on my computer to make sure that pop-ups were allowed, that the firewall was completely off and that all cookies are accepted. I have no other preventive programs other than McAfee so I know that I haven't missed anything.

What could possibly be the problem here especially since it worked fine yesterday ?

Thanks in advance for whatever you can provide.
