SWLs » Old Popular Electronics SWL callsigns Dec 30, 2013 05:34 PM (Total replies: 9)

I just found this topic. I was issued WPE8JHB in November 1966, and got my Novice license in May 1967 as WN8WQC. Have held various calls calls as an Amateur but will never forget those days in the 60s. Used a SX-25 receiver with a wire to a window screen. We lived on a hill and reception was good. I sent and exchanged qsl's with a lot of ham's on 80 and 40 Meters who became very good friends. In the 80's when I was working a lot of DX, I always made sure I sent QSL'S to confirm a report from an swl. Those were the days.
