County Hunters » CQ-CA today in 2017 Jan 16, 2017 09:41 PM (Total replies: 0)

I read allot of stuff out here but nothing that explains where we are and what works and what doesn't work in 2017. I am just starting in county hunting and considering eQSL Before I invest anything here I want to know the state of affairs.

Problem one: First I see lots of notes about mobile county hunters who complain about the number of linked accounts they have to set up and lots of "we are going to do something about it" comments some back in the last decade and some withing the last few years. Seeing as how many of the mobile ops are truckers or others who wander around they obviously have a point. Entering over 3000 linked accounts worst case if one guy visits every county in the country. Has anyone ever gotten a county hunter award using nothing but eQSL? Do the county hunters out there even try to use this site with all the frustration I read the answer to be "not so much" but decided to write this to get some feedback before I decide to go with all MRCs.

Problem two: The CQ website says eQSL is accepted but when I click "My Awards" I see lots of awards tracked most wanting a higher membership but all allowing me to look at standings. NO CQ-CA however is displayed on that page and no standings link for counties I can see on that page promises any tracking of a CQ-CA award. On that page when I click on Go-To-CQ-Awards-Interface I see a page with no working links (which says to me it might not work if I was a paying member) saying:
"Here is how it works: Select an award on this page, and a screen will be displayed, showing the eQSLs that our system believes qualify for that award. Check a box next to each QSO (award credit) you wish to include in your application. Some of the awards will have a Paper Application Button, to allow you to generate an application form for submission to the external organization." .....(My best guess is this page is an empty promise of some tracking report for counties that does not work and no links would magically show up if I were a member. Before coming to this forum I tried using the contact us link on the home page for eQSL but got a message that said just click on myAwards and you will see the CQ-CA award. (if it is there someone please show me!). )
If anyone thinks I am wasting my time trying to pursue eQSL for county hunting or can tell me they used eQSL for their award PLEASE speak up. All the complaints and requests and comments that eQSL is considering enhancements over the last decade have me doubting eQSL but I am going to give this forum a chance to respond and eliminate my doubts.
