Heh. This is titled as a "Support" forum sponsored by eQSL, with 3 eQSL moderator names attached. On this type of forum support can generally come from someone other than just other members, particularly when it is a question, such as this, that ONLY the eQSL folks would be able to respond to with some credibility.

No such luck here, that I have seen. The lack of moderator interaction and support in part accounts for the dismal level of activity/posting that you see in the thread/reply counts.

It would probably make more sense to have a Yahoo group forum. Does one exist for eQSL?

Tim,

Based on the postings in the last few months, it doesn't appear likely that you'll hear anything from the moderators G4VXE TIM KIRBY , N5UP Dave Morris , W3ZJ Rich Drake or anyone at eQSL who might know something.

The forum appears to have gone into semi-dormant status with a half-dozen or so of us looking in from time to time, but no involvement or assistance from anyone representing eQSL that I can discern.

But...maybe I'm wrong. Hello out there...

Good luck,

Tom

Support - English speaking » Support for eQSL comments? Apr 27, 2009 12:28 PM (Total replies: 1)

Tim, Dave, or Rich,

An earlier post asked about adding comments to outgoing eQSLs. Evidently some logging programs support using the ADIF comment field to provide a comment. I use the ACLog program by N3FJP, which has a comment field, but I don't see my comments making it to the eQSL.

Can you tell us which programs interface properly with eQSL so that QSO comments are added to the eQSL? I don't enjoy going through the "EDIT" function one by one and adding QSO comments, and would like to know if I have any other way to do that.

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks for your note, Andy.

Yes, I use ACLog as well, and haven't noticed that my comments are being added to the eQSLs. I wonder how we can find out how that works. Support? Support?

Perhaps I will post a new thread addressed to this topic.

Thanks,
Tom

I don't see any way to edit this post, so I'll add the following as this reply. I know that there is a "comments" field which can be used as part of the manual "Edit" function for each individual e-qsl. The problem with that is the warning message to the effect that "Warning - This eqsl has already been retrieved". That implies that the data is now "fixed" for the eqsl card, right?

Can I do something to keep the eqsls from being retrieved until I have had a chance to add comments to some of them--and release the rest for posting?

Tnx in advance
Tom

This must be obvious, because I have not been able to find it in the FAQs, current or original...

I upload my eqsls via an ADIF file from time to time and of course receive confirmation eqsls in return. Some of these have personalized comments on them relating to the specifics of our QSO.

I cannot figure out how these QSO-specific comments are being added by the senders. I would like to be able to do this as well. It seems like once the ADIF file is posted to the Outbox, that's it, the confirmation and e-qsling process continues apace and further input is not appropriate or available. Of course you can modify or delete an outbox item, but that is not what I think is going on here.

How do these QSO specific comments get added by the senders? Are they part of the uploaded file?
