UK Amateurs are being allowed to apply for a Notice of Variation to their licence to allow them for an 11 day period ONLY, commencing 29th April 2011 to use the letter R in their callsign prefix to celebrate the Royal Wedding of HRH Prince William to Catherine Middleton on the 29th April.
Listen out for these unusual UK callsigns during the forthcoming 11 day period.

Yes you are correct David. Generally throughout the 9 day's we had to operate the Royal Callsign, propagation remained quite poor, shame really. But at least you managed a "GR" on 15m. G7COD Andrew Kitchen
