I want to apply for RTTY WAZ. When I go to http://www.eqsl.cc/qslcard/extWAZStandings.cfm it doesn't list all the confirmations I need to use. It says "Maximum of 3 credit(s) shown for each Zone". In some cases, it lists fewer than 3 credits for a particular zone, and my RTTY confirmation for that zone is not listed. In other cases, it lists 3 credits, but none of them are RTTY. The eQSLs I want to use are all AG, so that is not the problem.

I am also working on single band WAZ awards, so this will also be a problem when I'm ready to make those applications.

There needs to be a way to select any AG eQSL from my archive, and apply it to an award application.

I donated $5 today, because I wanted to apply for CQ WAZ CW. Same problem, I cannot select CW QSOs for certain zones, although I have the confirmations. Now I have to obtain paper QSLs for those zones.

This is simply not honest. eQSL.cc claims their eQSLs are accepted for CQ Magazine awards, but they never say you cannot use these eQSLs for all awards you want until you give them some money. Then you figure it out, but... too late!

I am very disappointed and frustrated by such an attitude. No more money from me, that's for sure.

So Pavel, how much would you pay to Log Book of the World for that award? I don't think $5 is much to pay when you think of how much you save by not having to mail paper QSL cards with green stamps included. If you go to your Awards page and scroll to the bottom, you can read about the External Awards Program which does mention a payment. eQSL has an eZ40 award doesn't it? Have you tried to go to the CQ site to see the instructions there for accepting eQSL confirmations?

Andy,

First of all, I do not understand what LoTW has to do with CQ WAZ award. LoTW can be used only for ARRL awards, that's it.

Second, I paid $5 for nothing. I am interested in CQ WAZ CW. Not eZ40, not CQ WAZ Mixed, only in CQ WAZ CW. And I cannot use eQSLs for it, simply because the system does not allow me to select CW confirmations. eQSL system gives you 3 eQSLs to choose from for each zone, and the system decides which eQSLs are these on itself. And even if I have CW eQSL from some zone, it does not necessary appears in the list of eQSLs, which the system allows me to use for CQ WAZ award. It simply shows me 3 eQSLs in some other modes, and no CW confirmation.

Same with WAZ awards for any other mode, or for WAZ band awards, or for 5-Band WAZ. eQSLs are useless for all these awards, they only can be used for a single WAZ award: CQ WAZ Mixed. However you cannot find this information anywhere, until you pay money to eQSL.cc, and try to apply using their system.

Is this fair? In my opinion, not at all. This information should be disclosed, so people know, they can use eQSL only for CQ WAZ Mixed award.

Thank you and 73!

Currently only the mixed award is supported by the CQ Zone interface. At some point in the future the plan is to add the ability to add the various endorsements, but that probably won't be for quite a while, the TODO list is quite long and is only worked on by Dave Morris.

Thanks, I do not want to bet on anything, I am not in the casino. The eQSL.cc does not have a support contact: I tried to use "contact us" form on the site, and AFTER I FILLED IN ALL THE FIELDS, DESCRIBED MY PROBLEM and pressed "Submit", it simply told me to GO TO THESE FORUMS, where some members may be able to help me. Now I hear no one from eQSL.cc actually reads these forums, and I have to go to some Yahoo group to reach them. Amazing...

Someone asked me how much I would pay LoTW to get an award. Well, at least for my money they keep their promises, accept applications and send awards. Their support also answers e-mails.

It's not like I am trying to humiliate eQSL.cc and sing an ode to LoTW. Actually I do not care which system to use as far as it helps me to achieve my goals. I also understand now, that eQSL.cc is more interested in promoting their own awards, not third-party ones, and all this agreement with CQ Magazine is done simply to show the world, that at least one major award player accepts eQSLs, and nobody actually cared about proper implementation of application process.

Well, it is good we always have the alternative: green stamps, IRCs and US Postal Service. This is my best bet, not chasing the ghosts of eQSL admins in Internet.

Sorry Thanks to everybody anyway. I understand the people here are trying to help, but they are not admins, and most of them have different goals.

Pavel, the official way to get support from the admins is to use the support email system. I assumed you knew that because it is stated quite clearly on the screen just before you get to these forums.

73 to you!

Hi Pavel,

I'm the one who started this thread. Yes, there is a problem with the applet for using eQSLs to apply for WAZ online. But you still can use any valid eQSL for your WAZ application. Just submit a normal paper WAZ application listing all the QSO data, and indicate which QSOs are confirmed with eQSLs. The CQ WAZ award manager is able to access the eQSL database and can verify that you have received these eQSLs. I have done this myself, so I know it works.
