The new owners of HRD have just released V5.1.

This is the first new release in a very long time since Simon stopped working on it and is the last free version of HRD/DM780, although bug fixes for this release will also be free.

From what I am reading on the HRD forum it looks like there are already a few bugs being found, I think I might wait a few days before installing it here :)

I just read the release notes for V5.1. There is nothing in that release that would make me want to upgrade. I'll wait a month or so and let the other people find the bugs. :-(

There is an issue with uploading from HRD if you have multiple eQSL accounts. The QTHNickName field has been improperly coded in version 5.1 of HRD.

The work around is to login to eQSL *prior* to uploading from HRD. This issue has been reported to the new owners of HRD.

Just to clarify, it is an inherited bug, not a new one. Can't blame the new owners for this one!

Their plan is to release a new 5.1 version with all the bugs fixed before moving on to V6. I'll probably download it once that happens.

V6 will be the first version you have to pay for, price will be $59.95 and will include one year of support. No indication yet of what is planned for the V6 release.

Correction: The issue is with downloads not uploads.

A second work around with people with multiple accounts is to create unique passwords for each account.

I've tested the above work around and it works perfectly for HRD version 5.0

I just heard from Rick, W4PC.

He has fixed the download bug and it will be in the 5.11 release, due out next week.

They are now on Version 5.24.0.36

Version 6 is still on hold.

I couldn't live without HRD as I have a menu driven 2 inch by 1 inch display on my FT-897.

The 5.24.0.36 release is pretty good in my opinion.

V6 is still in Beta test at the moment.
