I have just received an eQSL from a licenced Ham for one of my WSPR transmissions which he picked up ..
I checked that I had in fact transmitted at that time, and out of courtesy, returned an eQSL even though I had not received him at that time.
Really, it was a sort of SWL communication, except that his prefix and call sign is listed in my contacts for country and prefix awards.
What is the current thinking on WSPR eQSLs like this ..
They are not, strictly speaking, 'QSOs' even if both sides signals are received ..
Perhaps WSPR mode contacts should not be eligible for awards, and be treated as SWL reports.

Hi Ben,
I may be wrong but, in my opinion, a qso is valid when both stations have received a report.... I'm not familiar with WSPR, but in JT65A, i consider a QSO (yes, it's a qso) is valid when a station has sent a report and has received a confirmation report..... -15 / R-12 for instance. Better if there's a RR and a 73 but not mandatory......for me !...there are no written rules as far as I know. It is the accepted rule for all other modes, why not for JT65A ?
I've been "heard" by a VK0 station a few weeks ago, I saw it on the pskreporter site, my call and my signal report. I wish I worked VK0 in jt65 mode.......but I have only been seen on a waterfall .

I consider WSPR reports to be the same as any SWL report. If your beacon was on, confirm it with "SWL" in the signal report area and some note in the comments thanking him for the report.
