Hi,

I do a couple portable operations a year. This weekend, I decided to FINALLY get my eQSL accounts set up properly. I tried it a couple years ago, and did what I consider a poor job of it. I'm dealing with multiple issues, all of which are self-inflicted. So, my apologies in advance to the support volunteers. So here's one of the issues.

When I go portable for the PA QSO Party, I sign KD8MQ/3. When I set up my accounts for those operations, I set them up using that KD8MQ/3. I'm wondering if I should have left the /3 in the account callsigns?

Does this need to be changed? If so, can I do it myself, or submit a support ticket?

While I have been registered on eQSL for a few years, I consider myself a total newbie here.

Thanks in advance,

John, KD8MQ

If you used KD8MQ/3 as the call in the PA QSO Party, then having an account of the same call is just fine. Moving forward, you can create a seperate sub-account for each QSO Party if you operate in a new Grid square. If you always operate portable in the same Grid Square, then one account should suffice.

The important thing is to have the correct Grid Square no matter where you operate so that people seeking eAwards can get credit for the appropriate Grid Square.

Wow, I think I just made this way more difficult than I needed to. I've been creating a new sub-account each time I left for a portable operation, and another when I returned home.

So can I add multiple dates of operation for the sub-accounts? I thought I had to have a new account for each set of dates.

Thanks,

John, KD8MQ

It is strictly a matter of preference.

The only hard rule is that you can not have any overlapping date ranges in sub-accounts for a given call.
