I use Ham Radio Deluxe for my logbook. My QSO's are automatically uploaded to eQSL. When I log into the eQSL website, I see contacts waiting to be confirmed. Shouldn't these contacts be confirmed automatically when I upload them via HRD? Why do I need to manually confirm them on the website?

Also, I've had several QSO's logged from other operators lately that I don't have in my log book. With the first couple, I thought I had gotten sloppy and didn't log them, then I became suspicious. Is it a common problem to have operators submitting QSO's that never happened?

It the contacts were part of the upload from HRD then they are confirmed automatically.

As far as seeing QSOs in your log that you didn't make, it happens from time to time. In my case I can usually spot the problem by checking my log. Sometimes mode will be wrong (PSK31 instead of PSK63 etc.) or date or time might be off. Once I had someone enter the wrong band.

Sometimes they get the call wrong. I'm pretty sure that the five cards sitting waiting for VE3KAB (he doesn't have an account yet) actually belong to me, and I know that I've received a couple that should have gone to him (phone QSOs, I don't do phone here). Easy mistake to make.

Best thing to do is reject them. If you spot the mistake, wrong mode for example, tell him in the rejection message; that way he can fix his entry. If the QSO didn't happen, just reject it and say it's not in your log.

Would the time really cause a problem? I think it would be common that another station didn't log the exact same minute as me.

I believe the time must be within 30 minutes of each other, so there is some leeway.
