Some of the QSO's have been moving from my inbox to the archive for reasons I do not understand. How do I un-archive a QSO?
My reasoning is that I want to leave QSO's in my inbox that demand some sort of attention, such as manual confirmation.

Robert, There is an issue with eQSL. If you display a card in your InBox, it will move to the Archive automatically. There is no way to move it back to your InBox unless you go to your OutBox, delete it (if it has not been displayed by the other Ham), then re input it back into your OutBox. The main thing to remember, is: Don't display an eQSL if you don't want it to go into your Archive yet. 73

This behavior is by design. See this FAQ: http://www.eqsl.cc/qslcard/FAQDisplay.cfm?Topic=1013Deleting it from your outbox will not put it back into your inbox! The only way to get it back to the inbox would be if the sender deleted it from HIS outbox and then re-input the data. 73, Dave - VA3KAB

Dave, I know it's by design for auto confirmations, but why would we do that for incoming eQSLs that need manual intervention like 'Confirm or Reject'?

Good point Andy, and I agree.
I know Dave is planning on doing a lot of work on the site this year, it certainly could use an update that's for sure. When the time comes and he is looking for input we can lobby that that particular behavior is changed.

Thank you David and Andy. At least now I understand the issue. Hopefully, in some future update, we will have the ability to turn off this default behavior or at least be able to un-archive QSO's. In the meanwhile, I will resist the temptation to display items in my inbox when trying to decide whether to confirm or reject them.

Yes, we will see if we can get that behavior changed.
But you don't need to move it back to your inbox to confirm/reject, you can do that from your archive too.

True, but once something gets archived, I tend to forget about it. To my way of thinking, items that need attention should stay in the inbox.
