For over a year I have experienced problems with the "ADIF Processor", to the point I do not upload much anymore. It comes back "Error No Such User Found" on each QSO. Also, it does not get to 100% and I have to abort the run. About a year ago I emailed support and they replied they were aware of the issue.

My question is has this now been addressed? If so, how.

Thanks/73,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Are you talking about the 'ADIF Processor' from Rich Drake, W3ZJ? I wasn't aware of any problems with that program. I use it here although don't use the upload feature, I just use it to check and fix ADIF files when users have problems.

I am looking at your account now and see an upload you are doing, it is complaining about a bunch of bad QSO dates, ranging from 1971 to 2007. Those dates fall outside of the callsign/QTH effective start date that is set in your profile, which is 06/17/2008.

You can only upload QSOs that fall within your callsign effective date range, is that start date correct?

Hi Dave,

No, the current upload is not with the ADIF Processor. Since ADIF Processor no longer works right, that is an upload of my whole ADIF as I cannot shorten it without the Processor. When I run processor, say for a 01-01-13 start date, it shows "error user not found" for all QSOs. It had worked properly for years. NOTHING ON MY END CHANGED. Now it doesn't work. A year ago some tech person at eqsl told me they were aware of the problem, as stated in my post.

Ok, a year ago is when we switched over to the new server.

What happens if you are already logged into the system before you try that upload via ADIF Processor? Username and password is stored via a cookie, maybe that will override what is being passed by the program.

Worth a try anyway, if it still doesn't work I'll get in touch with Rich and Dave and get to the bottom of it.

Thanks for the suggestion Dave. I tried logging out, etc. and then using ADIF Processor, but it did the same thing. Shows an error "No such eqsl/password found" for each QSO record. Finally I went in and edited my ADIF to a partial file, for the dates I wanted to upload, and entered it online via foreground upload. That worked, however it is a very cumbersome process compared to what the ADIF Processor used to provide back when it worked for so many years. I would like to get back to that approach, otherwise the manual uploads are just too much effort.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dan,

Ok, I have just sent Rich, W3ZJ and Dave, N5UP, an email describing the problem you are having. I'll reply back as soon as I hear from them.

Dan, I have some bad news for you.

I have heard back from both Dave and Rich, the reason you can no longer do uploads via ADIFProc is because ADIFproc uses a very old webservices interface that is no longer supported via the new 64 bit graphics server that eQSL switched over to about a year ago.

Rich developed ADIF proc using an old version of Visual Studio which only works on Windows XP and doesn't want to spend $$$ on a new compiler to develop free software, so updates are not going to happen.

So, bottom line is it looks like you need to find a new logging program.

There are lots of logging programs out there that support uploads to eQSL, many are free. Have you thought about going that route?

Interesting. Wouldn't it be helpful if all the references to ADIF Processor were removed from the eQSL web site, since it is apparently defunct?

Will simply upload partial ADIFs, since I really like my current logging program and will not be switching due to eQSL issue. Just won't do an upload very often as it is now way too cumbersome for routine use. Too bad this was changed!

Thanks for digging out an answer that should have been made readily available to all.

Well, ADIFproc still works great for finding and fixing problems with ADIF files, I use it here all the time to debug ADIF problems users have, and will continue to recommend it for that use.

Dave,

You are absolutely correct. It had not occurred to me to simply disable the auto upload and let ADIF Proc generate a file to be manually uploaded. Wow, I did that and it works great. I had never even noticed that auto upload could be disabled! Now I am a happy camper!
