I have used eQSL as my only log for years now. I have just discovered that at least some QSO's that I have uploaded are not going into my log. In the last 24 hours I have made FK1TK (New Caledonia) and FR4OZ (Reunion Island) contacts that I am proud of, but they do not appear in my Log. Why is that? I want them in the Log.

Thank you for your assistance.

Regards, Wes AI4FH.

Wes,
The logs that you upload are put into your OutBox. You should be able to find your QSOs for FK1TK and FR4OZ in there. They wont be in your Archive until you get a confirmation from those stations into your InBox first. There you can display them and send them to your Archive. Unfortunately, both of these stations are not yet registered with eQSL. You can see this by doing a search in the little search window. You can then see the eQSLs waiting for them to be retrieved and if you know their emails, you can notify them.

Thank you, Andy. Following your instructions, I can find them by entering them in the little search box at the top of the Outbox.

I want them to appear in a list of my DX no matter whether they are members of eQSL or not.
This would be the "Countries" list or an equivalent (such as a list prepared for export?).

I see at the top of the Countries list that it says "only includes cards to members of eQSL".

I am not at all concerned with whether a contact is confirmed by the DX station, as I am not a contester. I just want to be able to have (in any form) a list of ALL the countries I have contacted.

So this boils down to the fact many of my QSO's over the last 8-9 years have been lost, as far as being able to show them in a "Countries" list is concerned, unless there is another way to produce a list from eQSL that will contain them.

Is there a way to produce such a list from eQSL?? Very hopefully??

I get my fun in ham radio from trying to DX into "wierd" places, many of whom may not be in eQSL.

Thanks again for your patience and help.

Wes,
The only way I can see is to download your OutBox as an ADIF file and use a logging program or something else to sort out your DX countries and arrange them as you need. Your OutBox shows which countries you have worked, so you have that indicator as a very general view of your DX. Your Archive only shows your confirmed QSOs, your OutBox contains all your QSOs and hopefully the ones you think you have lost. The ADIF file can be viewed with a text editor like Notepad.
Good Luck and 73!

Thank you, Andy.

Well, I followed your advice, toughed it out and found a super cumbersome work-around to print my ENTIRE Outbox. As you know, the Countries List that appears in the Outbox does not list countries/contacts unless the contact also is in eQSL (although ALL contacts are "in there somewhere" and can be individually found by using the little search box).

Just as an example, here's a list of some of the very interesting countries that I have QSO'd with and that don't appear in my Outbox list because the contacts weren't in eQSL: Burkino Faso, Ceuta & Melilla, Greenland, Guadaloupe, Lakshadweep Islands, New Caledonia, China, Reunion Island, Tajikistan, and South Sudan (a brand-new country).

This is why I can't print off that Outbox list and show it to folks as the list of DX counties I've talked to.

So, is there a "suggestion box" somewhere that I can put a suggestion into, that in a future edition of eQSL there be added to the Outbox an option to print out the countries for its ENTIRE contents in a list, not just the countries for the contacts that have also been eQSL members?? I would be glad to make such a suggestion to the appropriate place.

Thank you again.

Wes,

As you discovered you can find those entries in your outbox when you do the search function. You can also find them using any of the other links; mode, band, and date.

The reason they do not show up in the countries list is because we get country information from the users profile. If the user does not have an account, we don't know what the country is.

Thanks Dave:

I understand.

What is the best and and most effective/gentlemanly way to encourage such a contact to join eQSL???

I'll be glad to do it on each occasion.

You could look them up on qrz.com and see if they have an email address listed.

If so, send them off a polite email to let them know they have eQSLs waiting for them on the system. Nothing to lose and everything to gain I guess :)
