I've noticed on the eQSL site that there is a Contest Committee. Has there been any progress made for an eQSL HF contest or HF QSO Party? If so can you give out the details? Thanks.

We started talking about it at the beginning of the year in the hopes of having a contest of some sort in 2013, but the talks stalled.

At the beginning of each year we discuss what we hope to accomplish during the year, so maybe we can make something happen for 2014. I would love to have a contest or QSO party of some kind!!

David, that would be great but I'm not sure how to go about getting a contest set-up and going. I know that I would love to work a eQSL Party or contest. I think that would be a great benefit for all of the members and it would be lots of fun. Everyone would get a chance to work some new stations for the awards.

I've read some of the old threads that go back quite a few years about getting something going in the way of a contest but looks like nothing has happened yet. Is it just lack of interest in contesting by the membership?

There were a couple of eQSL contests quite a few years ago, long before I joined eQSL, and the software is already in place to score a contest.

The problem is mostly at this end, getting everything organized. I'll give it another push in January, it is something I would love to see happen!

Dave,
I'll try and help out as best I can. Face Book, Twitter, etc.
During Thanksgiving, there is a semi QSO party called #WATwitter...Worked All Twitter. Hams spot themselves on Twitter (and even FaceBook in a pinch) and try and make as many contacts as they can. No special logging or contest rules. I'm gonna try to get on for this one. Most contacts may be on 10m. Here is an info link:

Andy,

That is a great idea and it should get the word out for sure. What I plan on doing is everyone that I work on HF I'll send them an email about getting a contest going for eQSL. One thing that we have to keep in mind is that things like this start out small but it takes persistence to get it going and keep it going. Maybe we can get some organizers from the membership and get the contest going. I will do everything I can to get it going.
