I have some eqsl from a person with a ham call sign yet they are spotting me as a swl. If I approve the qsl they will be getting credit for a contact and not SWL. Should I just reject these or what.

If it is indeed a ham (you can tell by displaying the card, SWL accounts say "Confirming SWL reception" instead of "This confirms our 2-Way QSO") then please reject the card.

Also send me a Private message and tell me what the callsign is please, he shouldn't be sending eQSLs for spots.

Dave,
A quick question....
Suppose as a ham, I was just listening to my rig and heard a good QSO. Could I then send each of them an SWL QSL without getting an eAward confirmation? Or would I get the confirmation when and if they approved the eQSL? I suppose that with our system, it can't be done. Would I have to set up a separate SWL account?

You need to setup an SWL account to do that, Andy, it is the only way for a ham to send an SWL report.

Because you have a HAM account, when you send each of them an eQSL, they get credit for a QSO with you which obviously didn't happen. And if they then confirm those eQSLs you sent, you will then get credit for QSOs with them.

Interestingly, I received an SWL report from a ham this morning, first time that has ever happened! I rejected it, told him he should not be sending SWL reports from a HAM account.

Thanks for the insight David. I'll have to be more careful accepting SWL reports and make sure they don't come from a ham account. I don't plan on adding an SWL account any time soon.
