Folks,

I made a contact today via Automatic Link Establishment and wished to log it. No ALE or 8FSK to cover the sort messaging mode.

Never heard of Automatic Link Establishment before, is that an internet assisted mode?

The policy here is to add new modes after they have been adopted by the ADIF committee, and I don't see it listed over there either.

Dave,
I don't think ALE is a mode, it's just a method of establishing a QSO between two stations. Like calling CQ by CW and the doing the QSO using SSB.

In that case the mode should be logged as whatever mode was used to make the QSO.
