Folks:

I work alot of JT65, and run across many of the same people on different bands. I tend to hang a card on my wall for a first contact, and stick subsequent contacts in my "dup" box. Mostly because I dont want to clutter up my wall with identical cards. I would very much like to send them something different and interesting each time I work them so as to earn myself extra slots on their trophy wall. Not to mention, I would also like to receive different and interesting to hang on my own.

As such, the ability to define and maintain a list of several different QSL card designs, perhaps 10 at the outside would be awesome. Indeed, situational cards do have a place in all this. DXpedition cards vs VHF cards vs Contest specific vs.... so maybe 10 choices might be too low.

The ability to associate a particular card choice with a particular QSO would be stellar!

Bob,
You can change your eQSL design at any time. But remember, once you change it it will change for everyone that has your eQSL in their Archive or Inbox. If they have saved your eQSLs in their PC, then not a problem. If it is so important for you to send something unique, I would just make 10 or so different paper QSL cards and mail them out. Do they send you different looking eQSLs for your duplicate contacts? If they do, find out how they do it. I'd be curious to know.

This is a suggestion, not a support request.

I know I can change what my card is and I know it changes everything for everyone back to my first eQSL. If that is what I had in mind I would have done it.

Alot of folks are sending very nice QSLs that depict something unique to their situation - something of regional interest, or a photo of their shack, or something from their portable operations, say. Many are depressingly similar standard selections.

These days nobody is sending different items but we used to. Considering the cost and expense of printing, eQSL is practically the only way someone now might. The whole point of eQSL is to NOT exercize the postal option. That and nearly instant gratification....

eQSL is a great way to "beautify" Ham Radio especially if folks gave some thought to what they do about their cards. This suggestion would make it even better. I have a number of different notions about what I might put on a card.

Back in the spark gap days, when postage didnt cost as much as your next meal, and we went to "The Printers" for our cards, I generally ordered a box of "assorted". Im suggesting that eQSL offer "assorted".

I make paper cards on my laser printer at need using the design I have on eQSL. And thanks very much to eQSL, I only need to use them rarely.

Bob,

I agree with you.
Being able to choose a different card whenever I want is a great idea.

As someone who enjoys designing my own cards I too can't stand seeing some of those
standard selections.

Chris
