I would like to suggest, Worked All Japan call area awards.
Like Australia and Canada, 8 out of 10 Call area 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 may be start.
My idea is "JD1 (Ogasawara, Minami-Torishima) can be used as wiled card.

Population of HAM in Japan is large, and encourage JA station into eQSL is valuable to choice.

How do you think?

Toshiya, do you have a link to a website that lists the various prefixes in use and their location?

David,
Thanks for the reply.
You can find Japan callsign explanation
http://www.motobayashi.net/callsign/enigma/index.html
Simple map is http://www.jarl.or.jp/English/4_Library/A-4-2_Awards/waja_map.pdf

Call sign assigned to Japan is JA to JS, 7J to 7N 8J and 8N
Exceptions
1)Following prefixes are assigned in1 Area; 7K1-7K4,7L1-7L4,7M1-7M4,7N1-7N4
2) Japan station often use Call/Number like JA1AAA/5 means portable operation in are 5. so take it as 5.
3) JD1 islands are different DXCC entitiy, so my idea is use as wild card insted of takeing as 1 area. (just my idea)
4) 8J1RL and 8J1RF are assinged to Antactica. (not 1 area, different DXCC entity) so I like to be handled like above 3) =Wild card.
more information can be found at
http://www.motobayashi.net/callsign/index.html

I may be missting some historical change, but not sure how much we should take into condireration
about historical change. (I personaly does not think does not need to be too serious about historical difference).

Hope this answers your questions.

Hi,

I think I have posted too complex schime. I thought again and, it thould be as simple as possible for everyone.
So here I again, post simple rules as follows, How do you think?
Rule: get eqsl from 10 call area of Japan.
call area 1:
(a) JA1, JD1, JE1, JF1, JG1, JH1, JI1, JJ1, JK1, JL1, JM1, JN1, JO1, JP1, JQ1, JR1, JS1 (JB, JC are not for HAM sation)
(b) 7J, 7K, 7L, 7M, 7N, (any nunber after 7x consicerd for call area 1, 7K2, 7K3... are all for call area1 )
(c) 8J1
(d) any valid call followd by "/1 (i.e. JA3ABC/1, 7M4ABC/1, 8J2AAA/1 etc)

call area 2:
(a) JA2, JE2, ..........JS2 (sample JE2XYZ etc, JB, JC are not for HAM station)
(b) 8J2 (sample 8J2FUJI etc)
(c) any valid call followd by "/2" (i.e. JA1ABC/2, 7N<any>/2, 8J1XX/2 etc)

call are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0
same scheme as call area 2, just numbers are "3" insted of "2" (JA3AA, 8J3AA, JA1ABC/3 etc)

I think is is simple enogh for the impremantation.

We have two advisory board members here from Japan, I have asked them to have a look at your scheme.
