I have noticed many instances of problems with eQSL300 award totals. The main problems are
(1) discrepancy between award total shown on Award Page and Total shown in detailed listing for the award. Sometimes these counts differ by as much as 7!
(2)Disappearing award credits. Many times I have seen an eQSL300 award count suddenly drop by 2 or three credits but sometimes by as much as 7 credits at a time. (usually after viewing the credits on the Award Page and on the detailed credit listing page)

I reported these problems years ago but nothing changed and no explanation was forthcoming. Its quite difficult to track down exactly which eQSLs are disappearing from a large list of credits but for a while I kept track of all the strange changes in Award counts. However, it is so frequent that I have just given up, no longer consider the award count reliable and consequently don't chase eQSL Awards very much anymore. Anybody else seen similar problem? Or have an explanation? (Do member statuses suddenly change from AG to non-AG for example?) 73, W2JLK

Ok, you said: "I reported these problems years ago but nothing changed and no explanation was forthcoming."

This is not true!!!

We store all support emails and replies in the database. When I check your account I see that you asked us about this back on 09/24/2012.

It was actually me that replied to your email. I told you: "Jim, two possibilities, either someone might have deleted a QSO for some reason or someone might have had a bad prefix on their account; we run across those from time to time and fix them when we find them. If you have some examples I could look into them for you."

I will add a third possibility, an AG account was flagged as being invalid for awards after we discovered suspicious activity.

But, the most common cause is a bad prefix, cause by a "/" type callsign, or a special event callsign which has a prefix longer than three characters. As I said, we fix these when we find them.
