It is my understanding that if you become a Gold Member you are essentially a Member for life. I just noticed that Gold membership is not offered, but rather, Platinum Membership. What's the difference?

Hi,

You're right, the GOLD membership is no longer offered, the life membership, the top level is now the PLATINUM.

The difference ?

The difference is the GOLD accounts get a $2.00 printing credit added to their postage account every month.
