Greetings All: First a Huge Thanks You to Dave and All involved in the fine service. I enjoy eQSL and as a minor Gold member, I will continue my support when I can help. I use the service during Qrp contests and a few DX contacts when I see they have been regestired.
My question:(Not as a complaint) just wondering why so many special Dx expeditions seem to ademently oppose eQSl? They will upload to LOTW but not here. I do not understand this. I would gladly make additional donations to them(DX Team) or via eQSL to receive cards but they seem to always add "NO eQSL service" to their QSL info pages. I just find that very strange and disappointing as like myself this would be a additional way to get revenue for their expeditions.
I was just asking if any DX teams have ever said why they will not use eQSL. I have been getting cards/donations ready for TX5C/5T5DC/9X0R/VP6DX...All state NO eQSL service on their QSL info pages...sad
All the Best
Gary/W9FNB

You know Gary, I think it's the old ARRL mentality......If it's not ARRL it must not be real Amateur Radio......... Even though I'm a member and also use LOTW, those people just don't know what they're missing. It's so much better to get an eQSL than just a confirmation. We need to sign up for the LOTW Yahoo group and post our views there. We may get chastised, but persistance pays off. Also need to send emails to the DXpeditions reminding and showing them eQSL.

I, too, wish that the DXpeditions would work with eQSL and would like to see them at least try it to see how it would work out.

I too, do not understand the resistance by some to Eqsl. I agree with another poster who said, "it is the old ARRL mentality. If it ain't ARRL , it ain't real. Well that is just bunkum. Eqsl is so much more easy. Has anyone went to the LOTW website and read all the hoops one must jump through to use this service? Sheesh. It reminds me of the resistance to new modes of communication. There are still those that swear by tubes and AM. I like these modes too, but I will not resist trying PSK31 because it is different or new. Sort of like brass pounders resistance to certain other modes. LOTW is a pain to use and I don't see why A.G. Eqsl's are unacceptable to some. "If it ain't ARRL , it's crap. How wrong is that? Yeah I want to spend hundreds of dollars on printing, postage and effort to mail out QSL cards. NOT. Come on OM's, get a life. Some new things are not bad. Hey, I think I'll go back to pen and paper logging because I don't like these new fangled computers. Yeah , I am deleting Ham Radio Deluxe immediately.

OK, so let's join the arrl-lotw yahoo user's group and post our feelings there. I've done it. If you want your feelngs known tell it to them. Doing it here isn't going to help because we all feel the same way. Somone there said eQSL is not double blind security like LOTW, but as one of our folks explained above (I believe) that's not true. I just wish they could explain it on the LOTW forum group.

The post I was referring to above was from Darin VE3OIJ in Suggestions>Promoting eQSL.....>ARRL LOTW acceptance...
He did an excellent job explaining the security thing.

I belong to both LoTW, and eQSL. And I didn't have to jump through any hoops, so sorry if I dont get what the problem is there. Its very easy to use, and find it AS easy to use as eQSL is. I just use my log program to "export" the log to ADIF format and upload it to eQSL. I electronically sign the same exported log, and upload that to LoTW. No more work in signing the log than confirming each QSL here.

Second thing is, if you go for awards and certificates...if you upload to LoTW and get a match, you get credit for it period towards your award. If you upload it to eQSL, and get a match....but, they are NOT AG certified, then you get nothing toward your award, and its as if you never worked them at all.

Bottom line is, I enjoy both, and will continue to use both. And I think Andy and I have discussed the AG vs NON-AG is a few times....so again, I send to both, and "I get what I get", and will be happy with it.

I'm about 3 countries away from gettin my eDX (25 countries), but when I do, I will have no problem displaying it next to my WAS and WAC ARRL certificates. And if I work enough to get the eDX100, it will go up too.

One last thing....Sunday, I tried out BPSK31 for the first time and made about 4 contacts....and later that night, I received an eQSL from an SWL listener. I thought that was the neatest thing. Never got one of those before, and thats one thing you'll never get from LoTW. There IS room for both in my opinion.
