Why can't we upload 160 meter entries? Eqsl says that is not a good band.

160 meters is a perfectly good band. Make sure that you have actually entered one six zero and not one six oscar. Also be sure that there are no leading or trailing blanks in the number.

Don't forget that the ADIF spec defines both a Band and a Freq tag - if you tried to upload 160 in the Freq field, it might get a bit upset.

I saw your question to support, Bobby and I've recommended you run the file through Rich's ADIF preprocessor, which you can download from www.w3zj.com

Good point Tim. Yes Band means band and Frequency means frequency in MHz. if you put band in a frequency field or frequency in a band field it will not work. ADIFProc will indeed catch such errors.

Thanks for all the responses. The file was apparently OK since it uploaded fine to LoTW. It was created with the N3FJP Stew Perry logging program. Anyhow, I got all the contacts entered with ACLog by sending the contacts one at the time.

Thanks again.
Bobby

I saw another question along these lines to Support. Does the N3FJP program create ADIF, rather than CABRILLO? LOTW does accept both formats, where as we only take ADIF. Perhaps that may be the reason for the problems?

If you look in the file that was generated - you'd see tags like <BAND:3>20M - whereas in CABRILLO, you'd not see any tags encased in <> characters.

Let us know - it would be handy to understand....

Yes, the program generates both. Here is a sample of the adif file:

I did get all the entries submitted, one by one, so not to worry about it.

Thanks,
bobby

The problem with the above ADIF records is that <BAND:3>160M is wrong. It must be <BAND:4>160M. Note that 160M has 4 characters in it, not 3.
