Getting more eQSLs » favorite dx antennae Jan 26, 2010 05:41 AM (Total replies: 13)

My only antenna DX or otherwise...a Buddistick with an MFJ 12-foot telescopic whip out second-floor window. Don't have anywhere near DXCC but have worked Europe, Central/South America, couple African countries. Always QRP cw with an FT-817.

Perhaps some of the French amateurs who post on RADIOAMATEUR.ORG could be persuaded to volunteer.

Support - English speaking » QTH info runs into Style 1 info Mar 3, 2009 12:26 PM (Total replies: 1)

Is there anyway I can retain Style 1 without having the extended QTH info run into the photo image? I wouldn't care if that line was entirely removed as my mailing address placement is fine.

Thanks

Getting more eQSLs » The importance of eQSL design Feb 8, 2009 06:48 AM (Total replies: 4)

I agree that a nice QSL graphic improves the look of the card when printed.

Actually, I prefer a photograph taken by the amateur of his/her's immediate region. But not a shack-shot. I think we have a pretty good idea of what amateur radio equipment looks like. Could be nature, an important monument, even a family photo, etc..

Just about everyone has a snapshot-type digital camera these days.

The photo doesn't have to be super professional.

That is what is nice about e-qsling, the photo can be changed as new subject matter comes to mind.

Can't do that with a thousand pre-printed QSL cards.

Getting more eQSLs » How to get more people to join EQSL??!! Dec 1, 2008 01:37 PM (Total replies: 43)

My gosh how, just how do we get amateurs into the e-QSL system.   I'm in Europe right now and am amazed at the lack of DX (not rare!) e-QSL participation. I've sent a half-dozen cards.  Interesting photo too so the card might be more attractive when printed.  None of my Euro contacts were registered and no e-mail address provided.  Mine is sitting in various mail-boxes containing hundreds of unanswered cards from around the globe. Is e-QSL just too easy? Too inexpensive?  Are there just too many cards generated now? I realize not every radio amateur has a computer.  But most do these days, even if it isn't the latest wiz-bang model.  Mine is a nearly ten-year-old lap-top and cheap printer.   They still work. When I'm in the States, my state-side return rate is pretty decent. I don't know what to make of it.
