The sunspot cycle is basically at zero right now, so the propagation on a frequency as high as 27.555 is going to be pretty bad. When the cycle goes back up so will the activity on those higher frequencies. The good news is that some experts are saying the next sunspot cycle peak will be VERY good.

Steve
I live about 10 miles from the Virginia-Kentucky border. One 75 meter frequency you should be able to here a lot of activity on is 3947. At 4pm and 7:30pm the Virginia Fone Net meets, and at 6pm the Virginia Traffic Net is on. At 6:30pm a bunch of us called the Freeloaders have a ragchewing net. I don't know how many use EQSL, but I'm sure we all have hard copy QSL's. The Virginia Fone Net has around 150 members. On 160 meters starting at about 6pm or so (when the band comes up) there is a group that meets on 1950 from KY, VA, WVA, OH and other surrounding states that you shouldn't have any trouble copying.
I'll be happy to QSL.
