We here in the USA can run the various digital modes in the HF CW sub bands. However, here in the USA for 6m and 2m, in 50.0 - 50.1 and 144.0 - 144.1, only CW is allowed. The digital modes are allowed in the rest of the band. My question to you folks in other countries: where can you run the various digital modes (i.e. PSK, RTTY, MFSK, Hell, THOR, etc) in the 6m and 2m bands? Can you run them in 50.0-50.1 and 144.0-144.1?
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks Darin. The thought behind my question was to see if other countries were running digital modes in 50.0-50.1 and 144.0-144.1. For example, some of the JT65 weak signal frequencies are 50.076 and 144.076, but we can't run JT65 there in the USA. It would be nice to work JT65 on those frequencies for EME and weak signal work without getting stepped on by local SSB. But, it seems that the EME folks run JT65 on 50.260 and the PSK frequency is 50.290 as you pointed out, so the rest of the world has taken into account that USA hams can't run digital in the CW portions of 6m and 2m. Opening up all of 6m and 2m for the digital modes may be a hard sell since most of those bands are open to them. Joe, K1YOW

In Canada there's no legal restrictions, although most people follow the RAC bandplan by convention (it has no force of law, etc.) but not always strictly - the RAC bandplan has 40m PSK up at 7080 - 7125, for example, for in-zone contacts and no Canadian follows that.

The RAC bandplan says this for 6m in the bit you're talking about:
50.0 - 50.6 NARROW BAND MODES (SSB, AM )
50.0 - 50.050 CW / BEACONS / MOONBOUNCE
50.050 - 50.1 CW / BEACONS
50.1 CW CALLING FREQUENCY
50.1-50.6 SSB and AM MODES (BANDWIDTH less than or= 2.3 kHz)

And this for the 2m bit:
144.000 - 144.100 MOONBOUNCE AND TERRESTRIAL CW
144.100 CW CALLING FREQUENCY

I've never heard anyone around here trying JT65 on 6 or 2, but I'll ask around and see what I can find.
