I was trying to upload some contacts that are from 1990 - when I first started working HF; however, the system rejected the entries because of the date.

Is there a way to enter these "OLD" contacts

Thank You and 73's

Hi Harry,
I'm not sure how eQSL system manages dates, but you might at first try to go to your profile and make sure that the starting date there for your license is at least as early as the earliest QSO you want to download.
Good luck

Dates must be formated per the ADIF specification

QSO_DATE D YYYYMMDD in UTC

Here is an example of 2 contacts in ADIF format

<call:5>7X4AN <name:3>Med <qso_date:8>20070815 <freq:6>14.007 <band:3>20M <mode:2>cw <tx_pwr:3>600 <time_on:4>2206 <time_off:4>2208 <rst_sent:3>559 <rst_rcvd:3>569 <eor>
<call:5>6Y5WJ <name:4>Josh <qso_date:8>20070815 <freq:6>14.005 <band:3>20M <mode:2>cw <tx_pwr:3>600 <time_on:4>2316 <time_off:4>2318 <rst_sent:3>599 <rst_rcvd:3>579 <eor>

What software are you using to output your .adi file? You can open your .adi file in notepad or wordpad and take a look at it since it is text file.

I recently used ACLOG3.0 and uploaded an adif file of 142 old QSO's from 1976 to 1982 for my old call WA1PNI. Had no trouble with the upload except with a typo for an invalid call and an invalid date typo that was out of range for the account. I don't expect much of a return because most have either changed their call, quit hamming, never been members or have gone SK. But it was fun to try and see who was still around! I hope others will take the time and go through thier old logs and/or QSL cards to upload old QSO's
Good Luck!

You know I might even start entering my old UK QSO's from the early 70's - I wonder if I will get any replies from those old logs. I put my old N9HJV logs up and cards are trickling bit by bit

My earliest QSOs in LOTW are from 1976 through 1982 with my old tech.
call WA1PNI. The QTH was 103 Buckley Ave., Forestville, CT. My 2 oldest
QSOs were to WB0RND 1976-04-17 03:45:00 80m ssb and WA1MTZ 1976-11-14
17:00:00 6m am.
Unfortunately, I was not too swift when I kept my paper logs and
probably used local time or the wrong GMT time for my QSOs. Last year,
I took those paper logs and typed them into ACLog and uploaded them to
eQSL. Since then, I have gotten two confirmations from my
QSOs. I do have a few paper QSLs and I thought I verified the times
and dates on those with the entries I uploaded to eQSL. So now I'm
asking that if anyone has uploaded any QSOs for my old call WA1PNI,
please let me know via a reply here or an email to n1ork(at)arrl.net I
should then be able to correct my old entries and try to re-upload them
if that is allowed.
Thanks & 73!!!!

Hi Andy:

I recently uploaded some 400 Qsos dating between 1978 and 1997. I have been off the air since then but im getting back into the hobby soon. Check your logs maybe we worked on CW sometime?

I got an email Wed. telling me I had QSl's waiting for me at this site. I heard of eqsl but it was the letter saying I had a couple 100 QSL's that prompted me to register. Next step is to get AG. I am going to upload my QSO's starting in 1988 when I got my ticket. I already got about 50 QSL's from 1988 to 1992. I really love this site!

I'm not surprised ARRL won't accept eqsl's for their awards. They are just like any other big company protecting their near monopoly status. Their number one priority is to protect their jobs and the organization first and promote amateur radio second. We'd probably do the same thing if we were a paid employee or ham with a fancy title. Produce a better product and you win the battle. That's competition and it works. Once I learn more about the system I'll offer some suggestions but I am just learning the basics right now.

How about somebody recommending a nice logging program for Vista so I can start logging my old QSL's?

Glad to be a new member of the club!

Chris,
Welcome to eQSL! You're right, eQSL is a much better product than LOTW. Try Logger32 for a free logger or ACLog by n3fjp ($19) is also popular. If you're into CAT control, Ham Radio Deluxe is a free radio control program with a logger.

Have you checked you eQSL account start date? It has a start date (and end date) and I don't think it will allow qsos to be logged outside those dates, even if everything else is correct.
