Ladies and Gentlemen.

How about a bit of old school Ham Radio Camaraderie ?

Could bi-lingual members of the community, take the present English requests and translate into their individual native tongue.

Then post back translated message to website administrators, to create submenus for requests in appropiate languages.

That would relieve the translation burden, to our members.

Again, helping all of the community.

I subscribe to the KISS theory.

Keep It Simple and Stupid.

Cos' that's what I am !

Dave.

Thanks for suggestion.
This my experience oF Google Translator.
A couple of years ago.
Me and the XYL were planning a driving/self catering holiday in Tuscany, Italy.
I got a list of email addresses of hams in Tuscany.
The idea being that we might be able to rent an apartment from an Italian ham at his qth.
I translated a message from English into Italian, Using Google translator.
Being old school. I sent it two hams I had found with perfect English on their websites.
Both re-wrote the translation, as a literal translation, was very imperfect, given the complex nature of the Italian language.
So... a little hesitant to do the same within the EQSL AG registration procedure !
Last thing I want to do is to upset my fellow hams !

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Can outgoing requests for AG be in native tongue of recipient ?
I recently printed out a list of 350 incoming qsl's from non AG registered members of EQSL.
I contacted each station through pre-made templates to these stations.
Requesting, that they should consider AG registration.
All templates are in English.
I got 2 replies ,one froman Italian station, saying is going to register for AG status.
The 2nd from a French station, sending me, duplicates of non-AG eqsl cards !
Is there so clever programmer out there, who could find a way of tailoring outgoing message in the native tongue of the recipient ? So, for Italian stations , software would pick up the requirement, for message to be sent in Italian.
Seems like a win - win situation. More awards, more folk in the AG community.

Seasonal greetings to all in the EQSL community. Happy Xmas and 2013.
Let's hope this cycle delivers !
It is probably my last !

I have returned to the hobby having retired.
Thank you so much for creating this method of generating and recieving qsl's. If you check my activity, you will see that my totals are creeping up.
Hampered by , although I have emailed every one who is not AG, to register. For the second time I have sent out requests to non AG members to verify. With absolutely no response !! Is it the fact that the requests are sent in English, and many stations, may have the ability to copy or modify " brag Files" in English, but in fact do not have the ability to read an English request in email. Is it possible, with clever programming, for the outgoing message, requesting consideration for AG status, to be sent in the stations native tongue ?
I have tried changing display language [top right of screen]Say.. Russian, to native language of target country, and knowing the English equivalent of the response boxes, from earlier requests to English speaking stations. But... the outgoing message is still in English ! So I am stuck to find a solution.
I am considering buying a translator and cutting and pasting into email fields the normal request, in appropiate language.
Best Regards
Please respond.
Mike.
