A smilar problem exists in use of Digital Sked Requests because it is so NON Specific you just end up with a lot of Junk Mail where they dont fit the mode you are looking for....

With many Digital specialty areas operators have specific modes PSK, SSTV that are looking to setup skeds.

I was looking to setup SSTV skeds and a Digital Sked Request brought 100's of emails of which only a few operate SSTV so all that happened is a lot of people had a lot of time wasted for only 1 station worked.

Simple to fix but totally useless in its current fomat, if you are serious about including Digital modes.

General web site suggestions » Digital Sked Requests Apr 12, 2007 12:23 AM (Total replies: 1)

A question to those that chase DX on Digital modes, I find the broad nature of lumping all Digital Sked requests together under the one heading does not work for certain modes.

Personally I would like to be able to send out Sked Requests under my area of interest ONLY ie SSTV that way I am saved the time of sorting through a lot of mail from responders that dont use the mode I am chasing.

If this is truly a DX tool then it needs further refinement to be really usefull for the Digital DX hunters.

Any Comments or ideas ?

This a a great mode for testing progation and antennas and refining your station to Peak operating capacity I know here in AUs it is very active and we have discussed how much more activity it would stimulate across the world if there where awards specific to SSTV.

Promoting eQSLs to ham organizations » Promotional Items Sep 24, 2006 02:58 AM (Total replies: 14)

I promote EQSL on my SSTV site as it is a natural match with DIGITAL modes as a lot of SSTV staions have websites itr works to get the message out there......

Looking to work 100 countries on SSTV and EQSL so I will be ginving ti a plug everywhere I can....

What about an area on EQSL where hams can select there area of interest and add there URL to an index it all helps to get the word around then each site must have an EQSL lookup bar to list in the index, just an idea.

Getting more eQSLs » What do you do with eQSLs? Sep 24, 2006 02:53 AM (Total replies: 31)

If you have a website then Post them up to the website....

I use this on SSTV to confirm with the staions that they have been EQSL logged...

Getting more eQSLs » SSTV and EQSL Sep 24, 2006 02:51 AM (Total replies: 0)

I have a SSTV Webcam that monitors my HF SSTV activities this is helping to generate more activity in the VK region, to get more EQSL's I find you need to activitly promote it at every level as it is still relatively new and a lot of the older operators have not hear of it.

I have placed the lookup link on the site, we run our own SSTV Chat line in VK and sent bulletins to the local WIA news service.

Just like the old days chasing DX, TRY EVERYTHING, then try it again...

Check what we are doing you might get an idea and if you have any other ideas please email.

I want to work 100 countries on SSTV
